Music Bingo at Servaes Brewing in Shawnee: November 19. No work on our part besides promotion- people can add bingo cards to their tab, and the brewery provides prizes. We do have the option to do a 50/50 raffle, which I would like to do since Hamburger Mary's was so successful. The taproom holds 100 people, and at $5 per bingo card this could be a great opportunity for us.

What is the process for potential new members getting on the email distribution list until we move to the new system? I’m not seeing notifications for signups like I had previously and I don't have a link to give them at this point. I’ve been manually forwarding emails to about ten people who expressed interest in joining since May

Mid Mo Pride in Columbia, Mo and Lenexa Pride are both on October 4th.

Seven Days events for April 2026 aren’t scheduled.

The logo pins, slogan keychains, tye dye bandanas and dye, and mighty mo highball glasses have been ordered. Next to order is the custom stocking caps, the membership voted on them being black.

I tried to contact the company who normally does our logo tshirts and they didn’t respond, and then I got sick (covid sucks) so I will try again and then try other manufacturers.

Submitted our application for the Jon Sims Endowment Fund AWARD application

Not grant, we can still apply for that grant by October 1st

Missouri Arts Council Grant Application has opened for next fiscal year
Francis Family Foundation is open August 5th through September 6th
I will hype up the grant committee on Thursday!

AD Search Committee, Jessie/Ian

Excited to start this week with our two finalists! Please join us at 6 on Thursday for the meet and greet. I’d love to have 100% board and staff participation! Nathan Brown and I are meeting with the two finalists Wednesday night for an intro and to give them an opportunity to ask us questions before Thursday.

As we said in last weeks email - we’ll collect feedback after the October concert but feel free to email search@freedomband.com any questions/comments/concerns/feedback along the way.

This week we’ll be sending out a survey asking members to suggest some of their favorite pieces from past holiday concerts (I’ll include a list of what we own for everyone). We’d also like to poll the membership and give an opportunity for members to conduct the holiday concert, under guidance from myself and the new AD.

Met with some of the percussion section to start diving up parts this past Sunday. It was a nice chance to catch up a little and glance over the parts.

Swing band has had two wonderful rehearsals so far! Join us Wednesday August 27th at Second Presbyterian for our outdoor concert, 7:00 pm. This is always a fun gig! Swing band will continue to meet until late September, and then MMJO will resume.

Putting together a guideline for money and budget requests. Should have it out for review by next week.

Missouri Business filing is due at the end of the month. Please check that this info MAFB Contacts is correct by Friday so I can submit the app this weekend.

Please take a final look at the Board covenant. I will send out an email and we will vote to approve it by Sunday at 11:59pm. Please let me know if you have changes before Friday.

I am saying this out loud, so I don’t forget! I have the storage key in my car,and I’m bringing back the banners and random stuff from HamBingo!
I am collaborating with Nick to better align our section leaders. I’d love some feedback on this casual role description. It is just meant to be an understanding of expectations, so we are all clear moving forward. I’d also like to start a discord channel for section leaders so we have a dedicated forum to communicate. (I was thinking we could have a monthly virtual check-in on that channel just to make sure everyone is good.)

I am unlikely to make the meeting as I will be on my way to New Mexico. If we get in early, I will call in.

The OneCause subscription is now in place and we are working through the process of getting it set up. I need to do some on-boarding meetings with OneCause and, once we get through those, I’ll get other people access and we’ll start getting people trained on how to use the system

Our Flipcause subscription is valid through 25 OCT 2025. I want to make sure we’re fully transitioned to OneCause before we notify them of our intent to cancel just so something doesn't get messed up in the process.
There will be a limited history that we’ll be able to transition into OneCause but I’ll pull down a copy of all the Flipcause records and save it in the Drive for the record.

Bea and I have scanned all pieces for concert and jazz band that we have received. Working closely with Jessie on this, thank you for your support!

Website is updated with the press release, I will hopefully get out the actual event listings today, I meant to do it last week but got knocked out by Covid.

I would also like to request an MAFB email address, I technically have the webmaster email but it just forwards to me and since that job title no longer exists I don’t want to use it to email manufacturers. I’ve been CCing Rameka on tshirt requests just so people know that I’m affiliated with the band.
